Guest Blogger: Richard Hayes
In 2013, I will be competing in not 1 but 13 official 10km races over the year.
For those who don’t know me, my name is Richard Hayes and I’m a 31 year old from North Sheffield. In 2012, I managed to lose over 4 stone in just under 4 months. This was partly due to my fondness for running. I have already completed three 10km races and my PB was set on 2nd Dec and is 50:15.
The NSPCC is a charity that I have a lot time for. The NSPCC was there for me when I suffered abuse as a child and I want to say thank you for all their help and support. Plus, with my new found love of running, I wanted to do something that is different and will get people talking about it. This will hopefully raise a nice total for the charity and raise awareness at the same time.

Jun – Penistone 10km Road Race – 30th
Jul – Leeds 10km – 14th
Jul – Rother Valley 10km – 21st
Aug – York 10km – 4th
Sep – Great Yorkshire Run – 29th
Oct – TenTenTen – 13th
Nov – Shakespeare Raceway 10K – 16th
Dec – Percy Pud 10k – 1st
