Barnsley College Deputy Principal Chris Webb took on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge during enrolment in front of students and staff in the College’s Urban Park.
Chris removed his footwear, made sure his valuables were safe and allowed Principal Colin Booth and Vice Principal Dave Harding to pour a large bucket of iced water over his head for charity.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) also known as ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is a progressive disease that attacks the nerves in the brain and spinal cord.
Chris said: “The MND Association is a great cause, the Ice Bucket Challenge is easy to do and the fundraising can make a massive difference to those suffering from the disease.
“I thought it was a fun way to kick off the new academic year and get people involved after the summer break; plus I can never turn down a challenge, I hope the people I nominated join in the fun.”
Principal Colin Booth added: “It was great fun to douse Chris in ice cold water, I enjoyed it immensely.”
