It is 10 years since the modernisation of the Mapplewell & Staincross Village Hall brought the building into it’s current incarnation. Can you believe it?
To celebrate, a gala was held on Sunday 16th September and what a great afternoon it was. Proceedings were kicked off with the North Gawber Male Voice Choir and their superb renditions from Les Miserables.
Both the large and small halls were filled with stalls offering information on adult learning, local history, the writing group as well as produce from the local community garden in Darton. The village hall had there own cake stall with a great selection of cakes, scones and buns.
We were further entertained with demonstrations of Karate and Tai Chi. There was also a childrens story time for both young and old. The afternoon was finished off with a fashion show with the clothes supplied from Landons in the village.
All in all, it was a great afternoon and a good opportunity to see just how much is on offer at the Village Hall. Well done on the past 10 years and here’s to the next. Big thank you to all those involved.
