Barnsley Sixth Form College has added three new A Level subjects to its already wide range of provision.
A Levels in Drama and Theatre Studies, Film Studies, and Physical Education (PE) and are now available at the college, alongside 23 other subjects.
Drama and Theatre Studies is ideal for students who enjoy studying plays, creating performances and visiting the theatre, while Film Studies is designed to deepen understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of film through analysis of filmmaking techniques. PE will allow students to build on their experience from GCSE to enhance knowledge and increase understanding of the factors that affect performance and participation in physical education.
Gerard Garvey, Barnsley Sixth Form College Principal, said: “We are building on our already varied A Level programme with these exciting subjects. They offer new options for students interested in progressing to university to study areas such as media, film, drama, performing arts and sport. Our refreshed choice of A Level subjects, along with our new campus which is due to open during the next academic year, make this a really exciting time to be applying to study at Barnsley Sixth Form College.”
