Barnsley College has launched two new Apprenticeships to meet growing business demands.
Both the level 2 and Level 3 Apprenticeship in Glass and Glazing will be available from March 2014. Delivered entirely within the workplace, Apprenticeships provide employers with a cost effective way of training new and existing employees with the exact skills required.
Roy Thomas, Think Low Carbon Centre Manager said: “The launch of these specialised programmes will be a great addition to the range of Apprenticeships the College already offers. With the introduction of the Minimum Technical Competency (MTC) card in July 2014, the launch of these new programmes couldn’t have come at a better time. Employers can use the Apprenticeship to up skill existing employees and new members of staff to the government standard, whilst accessing grants worth up to £1,500 per employee. The College has excellent links with industry professionals including The Glass Academy and the GQA Awarding Body to ensure we deliver the complete training package required by the industry.”
