Barnsley College is offering three new short courses aimed at anyone working or wanting to work as construction workers.
The Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) Labourer Green Card, the Level 1 NVQ in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment and the Site Safety Plus are available at the College’s Honeywell campus.
CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualifications. Anyone wanting to enter a construction site must now have the CSCS Green Card, which replaces the old Construction Site Operative Card, along with either the Level 1 NVQ in Health and Safety or the Site Safety Plus.
All three courses cover a range of subjects including assessing risk, manual handling, working at height, plant and equipment and risks to health. The CSCS Green Card also includes a health and safety test.
Brian Lee, Health and Safety CSCS Test Invigilator at Barnsley College said: “These courses are available now and are suitable for anyone currently studying, working or wanting to work in the construction industry.”
Course prices are as follows: Level 1 NVQ in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment – £320, Site Safety Plus – £100, CSCS test only – £40, CSCS practice test – £10, CSCS test, practice test and a one day training course – £80.
