Taking place on Thursday 5 March 2015 from 1pm at the Civic, Barnsley, Primetime is a FREE daylong event will be packed with exciting activities.
The Civic in partnership with Action Space Mobile have been working with a steering group of over 50’s from Barnsley to plan and programme this event for people 50+.
The day’s activities at the Barnsley Civic, run as follows:
· ‘Living in the moment’ workshops: From 1pm to 4pm in the Assembly Room. A marketplace of services, creative activities and workshops for people to choose from: 1pm – Yoga; 1.30pm – Singing; 2pm – Tai Chi; 2.30pm Ballroom Dance 3pm – A World Café debate (discussing the creative activities available for the over 50’s.)
· Open Mic: From 4.30pm to 6.30pm in the Panorama. Featuring a selection of 10 minute mini performances of spoken word by Barnsley residents. Have a go on stage! Register for a slot and contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01227 327 000
· Civic Scratch Night*: 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Assembly Room. Four short performances featuring the work and development of aspiring artists made by or for ages 50+. The Civic Scratch is an informal chance for theatre-makers, choreographers, spoken word artists, musicians, comedians, writers and performers to showcase new work and try it out, in front of a live audience. Each Scratch evening is different but expect a real mix of work that may include theatre, dance, spoken word or comedy! The Civic Scratch artists will be announced on The Civic’s website (www.barnsleycivic.co.uk) *Ticketing policy for the evening is ‘pay what you can afford’ with proceeds split equally between all artists and The Civic.
