SNAP into action with new GCSE programme

Barnsley College is offering several new GCSE programmes for those wanting to work in childcare, education, health sciences or social care.

The Start Now Advance Your Potential (SNAP) package will offer students the opportunity to upgrade their qualifications, particularly to train for careers such as nursing, teaching and midwifery.

Students will be able to choose between one and four GCSEs from Biology, English, Maths and Psychology and the 36-week course can be studied on a full-time or part-time basis.

Head of Health Sciences and Social Care Professions Lee Pryor said: “This programme is open to anyone looking to enhance their GCSE qualifications, especially if they need an improved grade to go on to further study or training.

“It is also ideal for people who work full-time as they can combine their job with attending the weekly classes during the evening.”
